『手振り刺繡』
この技術を習得して一人前になるには何十年もの長い時間がかかります。
その上、今はもうこのミシン自体がほとんど製造されてないことやそのミシンの操作の難しさに職人が育ちにくい原因があります。この横振りミシンともいわれるミシンは、足元のペダルの踏み込みの強さ、太もも部分にあるレバーを膝で操作することで、刺繍のふり幅をコントロールしながら、手元の針先と図案を交互に見て刺繡糸で絵を描いていきます。
職人の手足を使って仕上がる刺繍はふっくらと立体感があり温もりを感じられる仕上がりになっています。
「衣」は最初から作品の多くにこの手振り刺繍を入れてきましたが、このような刺繡の大作の感動をいつまでお届け出来るか分りません。
カウントダウンが始っている伝統工芸の技術の消失は日本の損失になることは間違いがないと思っております。

“Hand embroidery”

The embroidery has a plump, three-dimensional feel and a warm finish.
“Koromo” has included this hand embroidery in many of his works from the beginning, but I don’t know how long I will be able to deliver the excitement of such a large embroidery work.
I believe that the disappearance of traditional craftsmanship, whose countdown has begun, will be a loss for Japan.

夏も真っ盛り、お盆を迎えると実家に帰省されたりご旅行に出られたり、
燦燦と照る太陽の季節を謳歌しながら、お出かけの方も多いのではないでしょうか？
さて、そんな折に動き出すのは何も人間たちだけではないようで。
あの世でも年に一度の長期お休みとなり、ご先祖様たちも現世に帰ってきますが
ご先祖様たちに紛れてあの世の者たちも紛れ込んでいるようですね・・・。
お盆休みに入り帰省した夜中、何やら騒がしい目が覚め時計を見ると丑三つ時。
そうです、彼らが動き始める時間です！
恐る恐る物音がする方のふすまに手をかけるとそこには、、、。
提灯お化けにろくろ首、一つ目入道・・・、小さな隙間から我先にと顔を覗かせ
こちらを見つめる妖怪の面々が！！
