春、夏、秋、冬――
季節が巡れば、同じ風景も少しずつ表情を変えていきます。
霞む朧月の春。
生命の気配を宿す夏の月。
静かに浮かぶ十五夜の秋。
澄み切った空気に輝く冬の月。
それぞれの季節の空気感を、
青・緑・赤・灰の色彩に込め、
抜染で一枚ずつ描き上げました。
「四季染め」は、
ひとつの景色を通して、
季節の移ろいと月の表情を映し出す作品です。
見る季節によって、
心に残る景色もまた変わっていく――
そんな“日本の四季の夜”を、
衣らしく表現しました。

“The Moonlit Night Through the Four Seasons, Seen from the Same Place.”
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter—
As the seasons turn, even the same landscape gradually reveals a different expression.
Spring, beneath a hazy moon veiled in mist.
Summer, with a moon alive with the energy of growing life.
Autumn, illuminated by the quiet beauty of the harvest moon.
Winter, where the moon shines brilliantly through the crystal-clear air.
The atmosphere of each season is captured through shades of blue, green, red, and gray,
with every piece individually rendered using the traditional bassen (discharge dyeing) technique.
Shikizome (Four Seasons Dyeing) is a series that portrays the changing seasons and the ever-shifting expressions of the moon through a single landscape.
As the seasons change,
the scenery that lingers in our hearts changes as well.
This is KOROMO’s interpretation of the moonlit nights of Japan’s four seasons.
