【衣と墨】【Sumi-dyeing】2020.05.15

「墨」と聞けば、だれしもが習字や水墨画を思い浮かべるほど、日本人にはなじみのあるものです。
オスティア・ジャパン衣でも、これまでに墨手描き作品や墨絵プリントなど、墨で描いた作品を出してまいりました。
そして今回ご紹介するのは「墨染」です。

「墨染めの衣」とは、僧侶が身に着ける黒色の衣のことを指しますが、実際に墨で染めているわけではありませんし、言葉の意味を調べても、そこには「ねずみ色」と出てくるように、墨では本当に真っ黒には染められません。
「墨黒」とも表現されるように、どれだけ深く染重ねても、厳密には黒にはなりきらないのです。

では実際に、墨染めとは一体どんな色になるのでしょう？
それは不思議と奥行きのある、なんとも深みのある色に染めあがります。
言ってみればまるで、月のない夜の闇のような、ゆらぎのある色です。

藍染と同じように、一つの色が淡い色から濃色へと移り変わっていく、そのひとつひとつに表情があり、いろどりがあり、名前がある。
日本人らしい繊細さを感じさせる染めです。

画一的でない、墨の濃淡が作り出す奥行きを楽しむ作品、「衣」からはクレリックカラーが特徴的な半袖シャツ、レディス「主衣」からは刺繍のタイプの違う「大輪」、そして「蕾」のショートジャケット。さらにはワンピース、そしてワイドパンツとバリエーションも豊富にそれぞれお披露目となります。

また、併せて人気の半袖Tシャツも登場いたします。
柔らかな生成りのボディに、にじみを活かした「墨絵プリント」。

柄は夏らしく涼しげに泳ぎ回る金魚。
どっしりと構えた様がふてぶてしさを通り越して威厳すら感じられる蛙。
そしておなじみ骸骨-がいこつ-、今回はなんとも楽しげに戯れていますね。
墨絵Tシャツもバリエーション豊富に3柄。

5月16日（土）販売開始です。お楽しみに。

When we hear “sumi,” it’s so familiar to the Japanese that everyone thinks of calligraphy and ink painting.
So far, our brand has also produced works that are drawn with ink, such as ink hand-painted works and sumi-e prints.
And this year we will introduce “Sumi-dyeing”.

“Black ink garment” refers to the black garment worn by monks, but it is not actually dyed with black ink.
Even if you look up the meaning of a word, you can’t really dye it black with ink, as it says “gray.”
As it is expressed as “ink black”, no matter how deeply it is dyed, it is not strictly black.

So what kind of color is actually dyed with black ink?
It is mysteriously deep and has a deep color.
In other words, it’s a fluctuating color, like the darkness of a moonless night.

As with indigo dyeing, one color changes from pale to dark.
Each of them has a facial expression, various colors, and a name.
It is a dyeing that makes you feel Japanese delicacy.

Clothes that enjoy the depth created by the shade of ink, which is not uniform,
“KOROMO” will be sold as short-sleeved shirts, and “Aruji-Koromo” will be sold as boleros and dresses.
In addition, we will also sell popular short-sleeved T-shirts. (This is not ink dyeing)
“Sumi-e print” that makes use of bleeding on a soft body.
The pattern is a goldfish that swims coolly like summer, a frog who feels dignified as if he stood firmly, and a familiar skeleton.
This time, they are playing with fun.
