This time, we offer mainly historical fabrics nurtured in the Japanese culture.

2月8日(土)からの「春をまとう -衣の巻きもの展-」を前に、少しだけ、素材のご紹介をさせていただきますね。
まずは、以前より衣の作品でも度々登場してきました【亀田縞】。
新潟県亀田郷で生まれたこの綿織物は、元々は泥や水に強い農作業着として使われてきた素材です。
時代の変異と共に、一度は絶えかけた亀田縞ですが、みごとに復活。
水を通し、使い込むほどにしなやかさを増し、手に馴染むその素朴な風合いが魅力です。
今回ストールに選ばれた生地は、空気を含むようにふんわりと織りたてられた柔らかなもの。
ガーゼのように優しい素材感の中にも、亀田縞らしいしなやかさが残っています。
そしてこちらは初めましての織物【高島ちぢみ】
こちらは琵琶湖のほとり、滋賀県高島市で何百年もの間作り続けられてきた織物。
「楊柳」や「クレープ」と言えば、聞き覚えのある方もおられるのではないでしょうか。
柳の葉のように細い、独特の「しぼ」をもった生地で、肌着や寝具などにも使われています。
さらりとした肌なじみのよさは季節を問わず使い易く、日本の気候にも適しています。
どちらも、その地に根ざし、人と風土に育まれ歴史を作ってきた織物です。
ぜひ店頭で、手にとって触れてみてください。
さてさて、お店に立っていてよく聞かれるのが「どうやって巻くの？」というもの。
せっかくの機会ですので、簡単なものをいくつかご紹介させていただきますね。
男女問わず、ここ数年の定番ともなっている「ミラノ巻き」や、アクセサリー感覚でコーディネイトを楽しめるネクタイ結びのアレンジ。
素材のくしゅくしゅ感を生かして、無造作に後ろで結ぶのも、カジュアル感がありつつ簡単でいいですね。
鯰がちらりとのぞくのも良い感じ。
ふんわりとボリューム感を出してお顔回りを華やかにしても、ショールのように方に羽織るのも。
画像はございませんが、細めのベルトでジレ風に、なんて着こなしも素敵ですね。

Born in Kameda-go, Niigata Prefecture, this cotton fabric was originally used as agricultural workwear resistant to mud and water.
With the changes of the times, Kameda stripes have once been extinct, but they have revived brilliantly.
Through the water, the more you use it, the more supple it is, and its simple texture that fits in your hand is attractive.
The fabric selected for the stall this time is soft and softly woven to contain air.
Even in the soft texture like gauze, the flexibility like Kameda stripe still remains.
And this is a nice textile [Takashima Tijimi]
A textile that has been made for hundreds of years in Takashima City, Shiga Prefecture, on the shores of Lake Biwa.
Speaking of “Yo-ryu” and “crepe”, some of you may have heard of it.
It is a fabric with a unique “grain” like a willow leaf, and is also used for underwear and bedding.
The smooth skin familiarity is easy to use regardless of the season and is suitable for the climate of Japan.
Both are textiles rooted in the land, nurtured by people and culture and made history.
Please try to touch it at the store.
By the way, what is often asked while standing in a shop is “How do I wear it?”
Here are some simple ones.
